A well considered, detailed plan is critical to implementing even the smallest project. Dates, estimated completion times, suppliers, equipment and the needs of your business need to combined in an effective way. Clear communication is needed between all parties involved.
It is not weak to include for contingencies in your plan. This does not mean that time scales become extended. Many tasks can be completed in parallel, gaining time for the unexpected.
